These extracts are from different sections of the book about Pinky
"...one night in my Polish apartment I thought I saw a pink elephant. (...) I ended up writing and illustrating a story about a pink elephant and a green rabbit who lived in Krakow. Then I told the story in an English class and all the students said it was "bez sensu", but then I used the story to set homework for my students, who then, even though they said it was "bez sensu", did more homework about Pinky than from their normal textbook!
Soon lots of my students asked me what happened next to Pinky in Krakow and I had to tell them that sadly Pinky was dead. Or was he? Their homework was to write the obituary of Pinky. I got more homework from the students for this task than any other time! Then, I discovered in Gazeta Wyborca that Pinky had been sighted alive!
